It is always wise and advisable to do a detailed inspection of any used vehicle or auto parts that you opt and plan to purchase, BEFORE executing the transaction and any money exchanges hands.

Advertisements and sales-talk about the car, that might have lured you in or grabbed your attention might be misleading, misrepresentation, even untrue. Some of the toted features and promised quality may not really present, even performance claims, enhancements or exaggerations are quite commonplace and pervasive in this market as well. You will be well-served to diligently be on the look-out for them.

Here are some examples of what to pay attention to in your pre-purchase vehicle or parts inspection:

I.Vehicle Exterior: do a walkabout and note the paint-job and detailing on the car

1Look for scratch-marks and other dents.

2If you are unable to detect any andor suspect a new finish, ask when and why the car was painted.

3Hiding rust and imperfections are quite common.

4Check the bumpers and wheel wheels checking for dents, body filling andor signs of rust or decay.

5The underside might yield the most of this problem.

6You might be able to infer from these aspects mentioned above, that if there are problems on the out or underside, they might also just be inside the vehicle as well.

II.Vehicle Angles, as well as the Vehicle Interior: check all angles of the vehicle, top to bottom, tip to tail, rear, front, sides and even underneath the vehicle.

1Any inconsistencies or signs of major repair, could be cause for concern.

2Try to cover all the details and detailing.

3Look for outright and lingering sign of damages.

4Stains, tears or exposure, even sun damage might be noticeable on the upholstery and interior of the vehicle as well.

5Try and spot all these tell-tale signs prior to your purchase.

III.Vehicle engine: always remember that a clean engine does not necessarily mean that all is good and well.

1Take a much closer look and notice all details that has to do with the functioning of the vehicle

2Two obvious places to look, would include the exhaust manifold (check for rust here) and the ass well (check for oil leaks or residue here).

3Checking the dipstick for oil is essential as well. Ensure that you feel no particles in it when rubbing your fingers against it. If present, it may be indicative of some related engine problems and even wear and tear, aging or breakdown over time.

4Physically starting the engine, listening carefully to the revs and even taking it for a test drive is advisable as well.

5Performance of the engine and the handling of the car are your tell-tale signs here.

6Check all brakes and features thoroughly as well.

Ten years ago, you would be laughed at if you were to tell someone that people would buy cars without first inspecting them in person. Well, today thousands of people are buying cars on the internet through sites like eBay, without ever physically coming in contact with their cars before the purchase!

Lets face it: The internet is a hassle free place to shop for cars. There are many advantages to shopping cars online. When buying a car online, you dont have to listen to a dealer talk about the specs of a car. You just have to read all about it in a website. You dont have to go to a showroom, you just to have to point and click your mouse and you could browse through different make and models of cars. And if you want to take a second look at a car its very easy.

Furthermore, transactions can be done without you having to go out of your room. After ordering the car you want and paying the price, all you have to do is to wit for your brand new vehicle to be delivered to the nearest dealer. Some dealers would even deliver the car right at your doorstep.

Depending on the sites you are visiting, the method in which they sell cars to you will differ. Some websites will only get you in touch with a real car seller. This means you have to transact the traditional way. Then there are websites that would take car of everything. Some websites would even deliver the car at your doorstep. Of course this would mean a bigger amount of service fee.

However, before you decide to buy a car online, you must first know exactly what kind of car you want. How? By determining the types of car youre looking for and the price you are willing to pay for that car.

Below are some helpful tips for buying cars online:

1. Make sure its safe. Make sure that the website you go to is secure and reliable. Most sites would let you browse by car type, by price range or both.

2. Research carefully. The most important thing to do is to research. Dont get too excited. Check on the different packages available.

3. Read Third Party Reviews. Read reviews about the different make, model and year of cars. A good website must also have reviews and ratings for the cars they are selling. But you should also cross check by visiting independent car sites or sites that do not sell cars or are connected to car companies to get a more objective review.

4. Ask yourself what features are important to you. Do you give much ore importance to fuel efficiency than speed or vice versa? Are you more concerned about safety features than a good sound system? After youve done all these, its time to determine your budget. Just how much are you willing to spend for a vehicle?

5. Check on the history of the particular car line. You can easily do this by consulting consumer magazines and websites. You could also check out the website of the cars manufacturer.

6. See if you can meet the seller offline. If you dont want to make all transactions online then you could ask the dealer to meet you in person once you found him on the Internet. Upon meeting the dealer, negotiate with him as you would a normal car dealer and then sign the papers.

7. Do a detailed background check of the website or person you are about to buy from. It is advisable to buy only from websites which has detailed information about the vehicles they are selling. Ask if they have conducted inspections of each car in their lot through independent mechanics. If they have, then youll know that that website is a good place to shop for cars.

By following the above tips and always being aware that you are dealing with a legitimate, trustworthy seller, buying cars on the internet can in fact be a fun and rewarding experience. Now, who says you have to visit your local car dealer to buy a car?

The Ford Mustang is one of the best known and easily recognized vehicles on the road today. Who doesn’t recognize the sporty chrome pony emblazoned on the shiny paint of a Ford Mustang?

But I bet many of you don’t know the history of the Mustang. Well jump in your time capsule and join me for a ride back to the year 1964. To be more specific, March 9, 1964.

That was the day that the first Ford Mustang rolled off the assembly line it was a white convertible with a red interior. It created a sensation all across the nation. As a matter of fact, within 18 months, Ford sold over 1 million Mustangs!

Just months after its introduction, Ford began introducing changes for the ‘65 Mustang, including a bigger engine, reverse lights, and an AC alternator.

In the first two years of its existence, the Mustang broke sales records, wowed the public, and left competitors in the dust.

The next job for the Mustang was to take down the Chevrolet Corvette in the world of racing. That job was tackled by Carroll Shelby, the famous race car driver and designer. The result was the famous GT Cobra series of cars.

In 1967, Ford introduced a newly redesigned Mustang, with a 335 HP engine, and other improvements, allowing it to continue it’s massive popularity.

Ford continued to make improvements and adjustments to the Mustang, and it remained highly popular, even when rising gas prices, rising insurance costs, emissions standards, etc caused muscle cars some hard times in the early 70’s. Several of the Mustangs competitors, such as the Barracuda, went out of production, but the Ford Mustang continued to sell.

The Ford Mustang almost died in the late 80’s, though, due to slumping sales. But Mustang fans started writing Ford letters, and Ford decided to give the Mustang a redesign and another try. Sales went back up, and the Mustang continues to be a popular car to this day.

. To call a car or any product an Edsel is to provide the worst of insults. The Edsel was a car designed and manufactured by the Ford Motor Company of Dearborn in the late 1950s. 157, 1958, 1959 to be exact. The debacle of the Edsel was both one of the most spectacular and worst failures to befall the vibrant American automobile industry of that day. To call a car or any product an Edsel is to provide the worst of insults.

Some authorities will state that the reason for the Edsels failure was just poor market timing, not a poor product. Timing can be said to be most everything vital for the success of failure of any product. In those days, before computerization allowed for rapid sharing an interchanges of design and the car design process everything was done on paper. It took great amount of physical logistics and delays for the paperwork and blueprints to be sent and coordinated among the various players in the automobile design process. On top of that it seemed that everyone seemed to despise and those further down the line. The designers disliked their bosses and the engineers. The engineers hated the parts people etc etc etc. On top of that the name Ford was on the door signifying the ultimate authority in the car designs and marketing process. The Edsel project was initiated during a time of big cars from G.M. the market leader , yet introduced many years later when the concept of a second car , a compact car, for the wife to drive the family and kids around was beginning to be established in the automobile marketplace

Other authorities will state that the reason for the poor market showing and demise of the Edsel was that it was just a poor product poorly designed and poorly built. To further corroborate this viewpoint it is now known that the actual workers building the Edsels were none too happy building this model. The Edsel was not built on its dedicated Ford Division production line but rather the Edsel was built (or shared space) on Ford Mercury Division production line. These Mercury Division employees considered themselves as the luxury end of the Ford Car company entities and indeed saw themselves as a cut above the run of the mill Ford employee and workers.

They both resented the intrusion into their turf as they say it and as well felt that a Ford product was muscling into their terrain that of more prestige vehicles. In the end the marketing and sales failures of the Ford Edsel can be said to be a combination of both factors.

Interestingly enough the unspoken order from the Ford family was that the new product the 1958 Edsel was to be named anything but Edsel. The late Edsel Ford was the founder Henry Fords only son and the grandfather of the then current patriarchs commanding and directing the Ford Empire. The senior Ford even stated that he did not want to see his late grandfathers name spinning around on hubcaps. The design development process had worked with the E or Experimental Car. Since it was such a major and revolutionary product of Ford many assumed that the designation E car had of course stood for Edsel. How better to honor such a major figure in the Ford family and empire. Imagine if the name had not stuck. Would it of made a difference in the ultimate success or failure of the sales and marketing of this automobile product.

This vehicle could actually be considered to be an automobile with a lot of international relations. And this is not because of its sales or performance in other countries, but because how this vehicle was formed took several automobile manufacturers from different countries working together. And this vehicle is the Ford Aspire.

The Ford Aspire is an entry-level compact car that was sold by the Ford Motor Company from the United States starting from 1994 and ending during the year 1997. The body of this vehicle was actually made by Kia Motors from South Korea. Note that the engine and components that are in this vehicle come from Japans Mazda. It was made available as a hatchback with an option of three doors or five doors.

This vehicle was actually sold under different names. In Asia, it was known as the Kia Avella. However, in Japan and in Australasia, the Ford Aspire was known as the Ford Festiva. When this vehicle was replaced in Kias line up by the Kia Rio, the relationship between Ford and Kia started to dwindle and break down. This vehicle essentially has an average fuel economy that has around thirty miles per gallon, although the manual transmission models of this car can get up to forty-five miles per gallon, yet this has not quite hindered the Ford Aspire to become a favorite among drivers for it is quite favored by drivers for parallel parking.

Mechanical breakdown is something that the Ford Aspires seem not to include in its language for they have been crafted to be quite resistant to this. Putting aside vehicle and travel nuisances such as defective fuel doors and gaskets that do not know how to stay put, the Aspires are have been tested and known to have the capability to run in excess of 200,000 miles without repairs other than the standard maintenance. The engine performance of the Ford Aspire is sufficient enough to daily driving. It is also worth looking at because of its low sticker price.

Standard for this vehicle were dual airbags and given as options were the anti-lock braking system. It had used a 63 horsepower engine with four cylinders. It also had a five-speed manual shift, or as an option, Ford Aspire had the 3-speed automatic transmission. Other options for the Ford Aspire were fog lights, a rear spoiler, and different seats and interior trim. In 1996 though, it lost its front spoilers. The window moldings and the center roof pillars were now body-colored. After a year, the Ford Aspire had minor changes done in that included new front and rear bumpers, headlamps, turn signals, tail lamps, and wheel covers.

Ford Parts and Performance Parts provide customers a look at Ford Parts and Ford Auto Partss extensive stock of dependable and long lasting Ford parts and Ford Aspire parts. It could give owners a start on great savings while preserving the performance of the vehicle that exudes performance and comfort. Ford Parts and Ford Auto Partss list includes bumpers, carpets, A/C condensers and a whole lot more.

The best-selling car in America returns with an original engine design and a blue-collar transmission from the motor city. Ford’s F-150 pickup comes in regular, extended, and crew-cab styles. All cabs have four doors. The standard minicab mimics the SuperCab extended minicab with average rear-hinged “partly doors.” The SuperCrew crew minicab has four straight doors. Extended’s and crews have a bring up work surface seat for 6-passenger capacity. Crews have a 5.5-ft-long consignment single bed. Other F-150s use beds of 5.5, 6.5, and 8 ft, depending on options. All come in flat-side Styleside outward appearance; the 6.5-ft single bed in addition comes as a flare-fender Flareside.

The 4.2-liter V6 engine has 202 horse power. Two V8 engines are available: a 4.6-liter with 231 hp and a 5.4 with 300. A 5-speed transmission now comes as a standard option.

Taking turns on redesigning its bread-and-butter pickups, Ford rolled out a brand-new version of the F-150 pickup in 2004 and then focused its thought on a makeover of its big-bubba Super Duty in 2005. This year, Ford is sleeping from its labors, with little changes of memorandum: The F-150 procession is toughened up with a Harley-Davidson trim pack up highlighted by a monotone black outdoor; 22-inch polished, sham aluminum wheels; and bags of eagle logos. Later in the representation year. And there are some chrome selection packages and other negligible doodads to expend change on.

We were disenchanted that Ford chose not to fetch out a original version of its defunct Lightning, which was rumored to revisit in 2006 with a supercharged V-8 cranking out 500 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The Ford Lightning has been a huge draw for the company. Even appearing in popular movies like the fast and furious to boost it’s popularity.

The 2006 Ford Fiesta would be soon cruising down the streets starting this year 2006. Ford Motor Company asserts that with their bold exteriors and more colour choices than ever before, the new Fiesta range injects passion into every journey. An impressive in-car technology, a range of advanced engines, and Fords advanced safety system has been added in to give drivers renewed confidence.

This new vehicle from Ford features striking new exterior styling with a fresh, wide-eyed look all due to its distinctive new headlamps. Its interior has a wide choice of stylish new trims and fabrics giving off a spacious, sophisticated feel for its cabin. Other features had been added in that includes Bluetooth, a satellite navigation control, and voice control to perfect the whole new 2006 Ford Fiesta.

This vehicle is a mid-class supermini car that was designed by the Ford Motor Company in Europe, and was also manufactured and crafted in other countries like Brazil, Mexico, China, India, and South Africa. It is marketed worldwide with Japan and Australia in the list. Considered to be one of Fords most successful cars, it has over ten million units sold in six distinct generations since its production in 1976 and continues up to the present.

Its history goes back to the early 1970s when demand from consumers for small cars were on the rise, and Fords strong competitors were launching cars like the Fiat 127 and the Renault 5. The demand has also been affected because of the effects of the energy crisis in the year 1973. The company had to craft a small car to compete in the market. The Bobcat, a prototype and project of the company, had been the basis for Fords new car which was the Fiesta. The Ford Fiesta was then introduced to the world in the year 1975. This vehicle has also earned a feather in its cap when it was pronounced as Australias Best Small Car winner in 2004.

This new 2006 Ford Fiesta features a whole new face plus a complete new interior. The exterior has been done in with prominent changes to its front and rear ends. The Fiestas nose will feature new headlights and a redesigned grilled to reflect that of the new Focus. The rear also sports revised tail lights and a new bumper as well. Side skirts and new alloy wheels complete the changes. Changes in the interior have been of the most drastic. The architecture reflects that of the Focus, with its fit and finish being top notch.

Ford has no intentions of being outpaced in this hurried race for automobile innovations and advances. With all the breakthroughs in the industry, Ford Parts and Performance Parts stands by its commitment of delivering excellently engineered Ford Fiesta parts, and replacement auto parts to along with Fords efforts of sustained production of quality vehicles.

How horrible would it be one day to wake up and realize you dont have any headlights? I think it would be pretty bad, it would not be safe to even drive your car if your headlights are broken or dont work.

Your lights are one of the parts that will last you a long while. But since they are on the exterior they are exposed to elements that can be damaging. They can loose their original luster. You can give your Ford vehicle a new fresh look by changing the grille, mirror, taillights, Ford hood and spoiler.

It is really simple and easy to replace Ford parts, especially the lights. The reason for that is Fords popularity. A good place to look for the parts is Ford Parts Online; they are one of the most trusted auto parts dealers on the internet. So check them out if you need to replace any parts on your Ford vehicle.

But lets go back to your Ford lights. Its quite easy to change them yourself, just follow my directions and youll be on the road again.

First remove the exposed plastic or metal trim around the housing to get the headlight ring and screws. Using the right tools remove the four ring screws. Be careful, because it is pretty easy to strip them. Put some penetrating oil on each one for a few minutes. Also be sure not to turn the headlight-aiming screws.

Once you remove the retaining ring the headlight will be free. Just unplug the wiring connector that is in the back of the headlamp.

Then plug back the connector into the back of new headlight then place it in the mounting base. The headlight will position itself due to lugs in the back, but if it doesnt then that means you have it upside down.

Turn on the new headlight to see if it is working. If it doesnt come on it probably means there is a problem with the wiring.

You next step would be to replace the retaining ring. But again, be careful about the screws. The last thing would be to replace the trim elements that you had to remove.

It has happened again, and again in a very big way. I am sure you have heard the news that General Motors is closing plants and letting some 30,000 people go. Some they will be able to relocate, some they wont.

Ford has started announcing they will be “cutting back” and will have more to say about it in February. When asked if the cuts will go deep enough, Bill Ford said he thinks they will. This is all devastating news that we should all be concerned about.

The manufacturing sector of our economy is the one sector that provides for our society in any country, a ladder that allows us to move from lower class economies to middle and upper middle class economies. Without manufacturing, it becomes more and more difficult for families to pull themselves up and obtain their dreams.

Most manufacturing jobs provide up to nine other jobs in the local economy. Think about the local drug stores, dry cleaners, car washes, gardeners, fast food restaurants, independent auto mechanics, and so on, that are going to see their customer base diminish and their services not used as frequently. This will be a direct result of their local patrons no longer have the discretionary income they once had. Most of those that are being laid off will now start to learn how to get it done themselves. After all, they will now have the time. Many will begin working on their own cars, taking care of their own lawns, cooking and eating in more often than not.

And with fewer end products being produced, suppliers and their employees are affected in the same fashion.

What of our younger generations that are coming up through school. What direction do they take upon graduation? What field do they now study in college? And to learn a trade is still a good bet, but unless they move to an area where there is more discretionary income, what do they learn a trade in?

These are tough situations and difficult questions. These actions affect us whether we live nearby or not, whether we were the ones laid off or still working, and whether we live in the United States or not. There will be huge impacts. How much will the Federal Government be able to do to help us? I spoke with some friends who live in Marathon Florida who were devastated in the last hurricane and they related that FEMA has notified them that they are temporarily out of money due in large part to hurricane Katrina. They indicated that FEMA told them they need to go back to congress to get more moneys approved.

There are some individuals who had some foresight and started a home based business that provided them residual income. It may have sounded kind of corny then, or out of vogue, but there are those families, husband and or wife: single parent, or head of household that DID do something way back when and have been enjoying discretionary income month after month from their home business. To those who were prepared, you will have a little less worry and frustration than those that did not.

For those that did not have a home based business and consequently no monthly residual income, it is never too late to start one. You can start one up for relatively little cost, and it will not dig into your new budgeted spending pattern if you start a business where the products would be those that you consume in your household each month (all businesses need to have products or services sold. If not, then they are a scam. Run away from them as fast as you can).

As independent adults that are getting caught in this layoff trap and having less and less security, there is some analyses that may be difficult, but nevertheless need to now take place. For those of us not directly caught (yet), this analysis process would still be good for us to examine as well.

First, hopefully those employees getting laid off have put back some savings. After all, this has happened before, so hopefully there was foresight that something like this could happen again and there was at least some preparation.

Second, take a real hard look at what areas you would be able to trim, immediately if you have to, in order to slow down the cash outflows every month. Look at these areas closely. If you have teenage children, you might want to involve them in the process. Have them help to contribute ideas that will help the family weather this storm. Explain to them that as parents, you will do everything you can to make this a temporary situation and explain to them you appreciate their help and input.

Third, write down your plans. This is so important. Set some short term goals that will help you to get through this time. Also make sure to include your written finances from step 2 here as well. One technique to use is to sit down and write out where the money is currently being spent now. Keep in mind that most of us dont have the patience to do this, or are not honest enough with ourselves when we write it down. This is an important enough step that it is worth repeating. Look at the list and decide what, if any, areas you can trim down for the interim period. Dont look at it as I can go without this because this will begin to breed anger, after all, you worked hard for X amount of years and you deserve this (whatever this is). And anger will do you, and or your family and friends no good at all. This is not the end of the world and you and your family will survive it. YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT! But if you have the wrong mindset, it will make the process you are getting ready to go through much more difficult than it needs to be.

Once you have it all written down, talk to your spouse, or if a single parent, talk to your children and try and solicit their support in making those new plans happen. If the family has goals, and everyone in the family participates, this temporary setback will be brief and the family values and relationships will remain intact. If there are no goals, or they are not specific, then everyone does what they think they should do and in reality, nothing gets accomplished except feelings of contempt and frustration for one another.

Keep in mind that this has happened to people and families in the past and it will be experienced by people and families in the future. You may find that your life begins moving in a direction you had not originally intended it to, or the changes that take place in you or your family are changes you would not have thought possible before. That will be ok. Again, the most important thing to remember is that you did just fine up to this point and you will do just fine after this. There is a life after (insert you company name here). Sometimes many believe that a power greater than they are found it necessary to challenge them to learn and experience new situations that will further develop their true selves, or the people they were intended to be. Some will shrug their shoulders and say ok, lets move on.

Situations have a way of correcting themselves in time, but usually not without some direct input from us. What this means is if we are to have a positive outcome, we need to have positive input. If we experience a negative outcome, then we obviously have input negative actions, feelings and or emotions.

Remember, this is not the worst thing that could have happened. If you were not ready for this one, then get ready for the next one. Seriously examine your spending patterns. Take a hard look at where your money is going. Employ a technique called delayed gratification, meaning wait and save the money for the item, or do what is necessary now in order to have the item or pleasure in the future.

And if you do not have a side business, a home based business, or a part time business, realistically pursue that. There are too many opportunities that are out there for bright people that are hard working in nature, to sit on the sidelines and not be able to participate in the Great American Dream.
